Analysis of Fluency Scores

Your organization’s export of a Fluency Score analysis of scores provides rich, actionable insights. If this is your first time viewing a customized Analysis Report, here is some context on the data tool itself.

The Fluency Score

The Fluency Score is an objective data tool that supplements traditional metrics used to understand risk, traction, and progress for early-stage companies. Whereas the pitch asks founders what will be true about their businesses in the future, the Fluency Score focuses on what has been derisked about the business model in the market with customers, and the quality of that work.

The Fluency Score measures and describes where a company is at on its journey to product-market fit. It also breaks out where unresolved business model risk lies and provides insights into how to begin to resolve that risk.

The Fluency Score is out of a possible total of 3500 points. The range of 0-3500 can represent a business from ideation throughout its journey to reach product-market fit. That score is visualized across three vectors (validation, traction, and growth strategy). The Fluency Score also measures and represents the execution approach of the team at de-risking their business model and describes this in terms of speed and focus.

If yours is a two-score analysis export, you will observe the change in each company at a glance along each of these vectors.

Data Collection

Data for the score is collected from the company directly via Fluent’s adaptive data collection tool. The tool asks progressively customized questions, determined based on the stage and complexity of the business, to capture to what extent the company has tested the assumptions in its business model in the market with customers.

Data collected through the Fluent platform is then normalized and standardized in order to be analyzed by the Fluency Score algorithm over about 300 data points to produce the objective, numerical score and breakout of risk you see in this report.

Company-specific recommendations for each vector, for each score, can be found within the Fluent platform by clicking on the individual company’s databook.

This Report: Your Data

The Fluency Score data analysis represented in this report has been customized by your organization. It can be tailored within the app (sign in at the top of this page) to represent different views.

For example, you can sort by companies in your portfolio, or perhaps only companies in your anti-portfolio (non-selects). However you choose your dataset, you can then elect to analyze either a single score for each company or two scores for each company to understand change over time.
